Digital Wallet Terms & Conditions
Read the terms and conditions governing the use of Jet Bank cards with digital wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other compatible payment solutions.

1. General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions regulate the registration and use of debit and/or credit cards issued by Jet Bank (hereinafter referred to as the "Bank") within Digital Wallet applications enabled through Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES), including but not limited to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other compatible solutions.
By registering a Card in a Digital Wallet, the Cardholder confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms supplement the agreement governing the issuance and use of the Card concluded between the Bank and the Cardholder. In case of any inconsistency, these Terms shall prevail in relation to the use of the Card within Digital Wallets.
By using a Digital Wallet, the Cardholder consents to the sharing of data with:
- Mastercard (for tokenization and processing);
- The Digital Wallet provider (e.g., Apple);
- Payment networks and service providers.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
Digital Wallet
A payment application that allows the Cardholder to enroll and use a digital version of their Card on a compatible Device.
Card
Any valid debit or credit card issued by Jet Bank and eligible for registration in a Digital Wallet.
Cardholder
The individual or entity to whom the Card has been issued.
Device
A mobile phone, smartwatch, or other compatible device that supports the Digital Wallet.
Token
A unique digital identifier (also known as Device Account Number) generated for each Card registered in a Digital Wallet and used instead of the actual Card number.
Transaction
Any payment, withdrawal, or other operation performed using the Digital Wallet.
3. Registration of Cards in Digital Wallets
The Cardholder may register eligible Cards in a Digital Wallet either directly through the Digital Wallet application or through the Bank's mobile banking application, where such functionality is made available.
In both cases, the registration process requires authentication of the Cardholder, which may include:
- One-time passwords (OTP);
- Biometric verification;
- Other security methods determined by the Bank and/or the Digital Wallet provider.
Following successful registration, a Token will be generated and linked to the Card and the specific Device.
Where the same Card is registered on multiple Devices, a separate Token will be generated for each Device.
The Bank reserves the right to approve or decline any request for Card registration, including cases involving:
- Security concerns;
- Suspected fraud;
- Regulatory requirements.
The Digital Wallet provider may also independently refuse registration of a Card without involvement of the Bank.
4. Use of the Card through Digital Wallet
Once registered, the Card may be used through a Digital Wallet to perform:
- Contactless payments at merchants;
- Online payments where supported;
- Other services enabled by the Digital Wallet provider.
Transactions carried out using a Digital Wallet shall be treated as Transactions performed with the physical Card and are subject to the same limits, fees, and conditions applicable to the Card.
The Digital Wallet may not be accepted at all merchants where the Card is accepted, and the Bank does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service.
5. Security and Obligations of the Cardholder
The Cardholder is responsible for ensuring the security of the Device and all authentication methods used to access the Digital Wallet, including passcodes, biometric identifiers, and any other credentials.
The Cardholder must take all reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized use, including:
- Securing the Device;
- Not sharing access credentials;
- Enabling appropriate security settings.
If the Device is lost, stolen, compromised, or if unauthorized use is suspected, the Cardholder must notify the Bank without delay and take steps to block the Card or remove it from the Digital Wallet.
Any Transaction authenticated through the Device shall be considered authorized by the Cardholder unless proven otherwise in accordance with applicable legislation.
6. Blocking, Suspension and Removal
The Cardholder may remove the Card from the Digital Wallet at any time through the relevant application.
Such removal does not affect the functionality of the Card, and the Cardholder may add it again at any time.
The Bank may block, suspend, or restrict the use of a Card within a Digital Wallet where there are reasonable grounds to do so, including:
- Security reasons;
- Suspected fraud;
- Breach of these Terms.
The Digital Wallet provider, Mastercard, or other third parties may also independently restrict or terminate the use of the Digital Wallet without prior notice from the Bank.
7. Protection of Personal Data
The Bank processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
By registering and using a Card in a Digital Wallet, the Cardholder consents to the sharing of necessary data with Mastercard, the Digital Wallet provider, and other authorized parties for the purposes of:
- Tokenization;
- Authentication;
- Fraud prevention;
- Transaction processing.
The Bank does not store full Card details on the Device. Instead, Tokenization is used to ensure that the Card number is not disclosed during Transactions.
The Digital Wallet provider is independently responsible for the processing of personal data within its systems.
8. Liability
The Bank shall be liable only for losses arising directly from its failure to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
The Bank shall not be responsible for any loss resulting from:
- The use or malfunction of the Digital Wallet;
- The Device;
- Third-party services;
- Service interruptions;
- Technical failures.
The Cardholder remains responsible for all Transactions carried out using the Digital Wallet, except where otherwise provided by applicable law.
9. Amendments
The Bank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Any changes will be communicated through appropriate channels, including:
- Electronic communication;
- Publication on the Bank's website.
Continued use of the Digital Wallet after such changes shall constitute acceptance of the amended Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Albania.
The Bank processes personal data in accordance with the applicable legal framework, including:
- Law No. 124/2024 "On the Protection of Personal Data" of the Republic of Albania;
- Applicable implementing by-laws;
- The principles of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.
