Are my deposits at Jet Bank Sh.a. protected?
Yes. Jet Bank Sh.a. is a member of the Deposit Insurance Scheme in the Republic of Albania, administered by the Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency (ASD).
This scheme guarantees compensation to depositors if a bank is unable to fulfill its obligations toward clients, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
What is the deposit insurance amount?
Deposits are insured up to 2,500,000 ALL per depositor, per bank.
This limit includes the deposited amount and the accrued interest up to the date of intervention.
If the total amount exceeds this limit, the portion above 2,500,000 ALL is not covered by the scheme.
Does the limit apply to each account or each client?
The limit applies to each depositor and each bank, regardless of the number of accounts, products, or currencies.
If you have multiple accounts at Jet Bank Sh.a. — current, savings, or term deposit accounts — all of them are combined and insured up to the maximum limit of 2,500,000 ALL.
What happens if the account is joint?
The insurance limit applies separately to each depositor.
Each depositor’s share is considered individually for insurance purposes.

- Current accounts
- Savings accounts
- Term deposits
- Deposits in Albanian Lek and foreign currencies
- Individuals, sole traders, and commercial companies — residents and non-residents
Which deposits are not covered?
- The portion of deposits above the 2,500,000 ALL limit
- Deposits of financial institutions
- Deposits of bank executives and their family members
- Deposits of shareholders with significant participation
- Other deposits excluded under applicable legislation
Are foreign currency deposits covered?
Yes. Foreign currency deposits are covered by the scheme.
In the event of compensation, the amount is converted into Albanian Lek according to the exchange rate on the date of intervention by the competent authority.
Do I need to pay for deposit insurance?
No. Clients do not pay anything.
Contributions are paid by the member banks of the scheme.
What happens if the bank cannot fulfill its obligations?
If the bank is placed into liquidation by the Bank of Albania, ASD organizes the compensation of depositors up to the insurance limit through an appointed agent bank.
How is compensation carried out?
- Depositors are informed about the compensation process
- They identify themselves with an identification document
- They withdraw the insured amount through the appointed agent bank
Will I receive information when opening an account?
Yes. During account opening, Jet Bank Sh.a. provides the standard information form regarding deposit insurance, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
