Jet Bank officially presented the launch of its operations and application, marking a historic moment for the Albanian financial sector as the first 100% digital bank in the country.

At the event organized at the Brigades Palace, with the participation of representatives of state institutions, the banking sector, international partners, the media and Jet Bank executives , the vision, technology and new standard that the bank aims to bring to the transformation of the Albanian financial sector were presented. The discussions focused on the role of digitalization in the development of the economy and the modernization of financial services, making them faster, more transparent and safer for citizens.

After receiving a full license from the Bank of Albania in March 2026 and with the support of international partners such as Backbase, Mastercard, Amazon, Oracle, Microsoft Azure, Jumio, Facilization and others, Jet Bank officially launches its activity in Albania with the gradual opening of accounts. In this first phase, people registered on the waiting list will receive invitations via email to activate their accounts and start using the bank's services. This process will enable Jet Bank to guarantee the highest quality experience for its first customers, while access will be progressively expanded throughout the country.

In her welcoming speech, Jet Bank CEO , Ms. Fatbardha Rino, described the arrival of the first 100% digital bank as a moment that Albanians have been waiting for and for which Albania is ready. “ Jet Bank came to Albania because we believed in the potential of this country. We believed in the energy of Albanians, in the young generation and in entrepreneurs.

During the presentation of the application, she emphasized that Jet Bank aims to be remembered not only as the first 100% digital bank in Albania, but as the institution that changed the expectations of Albanians and opened a new chapter for the banking sector in the country.

Present at the event were former British Member of Parliament and friend of Albanians, Mr. John Grogan, as well as the British Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Nicholas Abbott, who praised the importance of this innovative investment for the Albanian banking system, as another bridge of cooperation between the countries.

From the diplomatic corps in the country, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Albania, Mr. Reinout Vos, was also present.

On behalf of the international partners, Mastercard's Executive Vice President for Southeast Europe, Bartosz Ciolkowski, shared the company's vision for the future of payments and the importance of this collaboration in building a fully digital financial system in Albania.

The launch of Jet Bank comes at a time when Albania is advancing towards the digitalization of the economy and approximation with European Union standards in the financial sector. In this context, the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, underlined the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in accelerating the country's digital transformation. Interest in Jet Bank has been extraordinary even before the start of operations. Over 70,000 citizens have registered on the waiting list, while more than 500 people have tested the platform over the past few months, helping to continuously improve the experience.

With a fully digital operating model, advanced technology, and strategic international partnerships, Jet Bank is no longer a promised future, but the standard of the future of banking services happening in Albania today.
