Deutsche Welle: Albania enters the era of digital banking with Jet Bank by Newsbomb

In its latest analysis of the Western Balkans, Deutsche Welle has highlighted Albania’s first 100% digital bank, Jet Bank, describing it as the beginning of a new era of digital banking for the country.
As a bank without physical branches, it offers a new user experience based on technology and instant accessibility. This model is aligned with global trends in the financial sector.
According to Deutsche Welle, this innovation places Albania in a new position compared to other countries in the region.
In the report titled “Will Cash Remain King in the Western Balkans?”, the well-known media outlet analyzes the large-scale informal economy, noting that the digitalization of payments could contribute not only to combating informality but also to preventing money laundering.
At the center of the report is the CEO of Jet Bank, Ms. Fatbardha Rino, who, when asked about this development, states that “this is a good moment for such progress in Albania.”
She is also asked about her role as a woman in a male-dominated industry, to which she responds that such initiatives are not so much about gender, but about the experience built over the years that brings one to this point, both personally and collectively.
